The PE Alphabet Word Wall Display is a valuable resource that was designed to give physical education teachers the ability to easily display commonly used PE and Health-related words in their teaching areas. The product was developed using attractive and kid-friendly graphics, borders and font. This physical education resource was inspired by a request from Kentucky PE teacher, Jodi Sims, who was also instrumental in the word development and overall editing of the product.
Inside the main PDF file, of this packet, you will find an oval-shaped graphic for each of the 26 letters and 6 PE-related words (all except for the letters X and Y, which have 3 words each) that correspond with each letter. Three words fit on one 8 1/2 by 11 inch page so they are big enough for a large gym wall. The letters and words are framed in similar colors and a kid-friendly sport image accompanies each letter. A separate, editable Power Point file is included in the zip folder that allows you to build your own displayable PE words. The editable file uses the same colors as the main PDF file so that you can match them up with the display letters.
The display word font in the main PDF folder was constructed using BD Cartoon Shout however, the editable file has a more common font (Courier New) that many people already have in their PowerPoint programs. Since it is a truly editable file, you can always change the font to something else that you desire.
The PE Alphabet Word Wall Display is an excellent way for you to discuss with your students terms that you commonly use during your daily PE lessons. The words in the main PDF file cover a diverse age group of students (2nd – 10th grades), however using the editable word building file, you can easily tailor your Alphabet Words to meet the needs of your specific student age group.

ALIGN COMMON CORE LANGUAGE ARTS STANDARDS IN PE
Inside this packet are 2 Curriculum Connection Signs/Posters for integrating Language Arts- Informational Text into Physical Education. The 2 posters (Kdg. to 2nd and 3rd to 5th) identify 2 Common Core Standards for Language Arts- (Informational Text) for each grade level and provide examples of how we can align to the CC Language Arts Standards by implementing simple PE teaching practices/activities in our daily lessons. The stated PE Language Arts applications are easy to do and in most cases, we as physical educators, are already incorporating these practices when teaching using posters, signs, task cards, cue cards, station cards, web pages, white boards, and chalk boards.
These PE Curriculum Connection signs or posters can be posted in your gyms or hallways leading to your gym entry door and can be displayed for all to see as a testament to how we can integrate academic subject standards into the curriculum we teach. Many of the Language Arts integration activity and teaching practice examples (on these signs/posters) can be easily fused into the fitness and skill-based activities that you are already teaching. By having students read and understand PE- related text and illustrations and then presenting the information to each other, we are fusing active movement with academic learning. It is a “Win-Win-Win” for us, the classroom teachers and of course our students. Administrators and parents will love to read these signs/posters and they will automatically bring up a positive conversation.
These PE printables come in both a PDF and JPEG format and automatically print on a 8 ½ by 11 inch sheet of standard copy paper but can easily be “blown up” into a small sign or a poster size document (with a school or store poster maker) for all to see.
Print, laminate, post and keep for years to come.
WE TEACH MORE THAN JUST MOVEMENT AND SKILLS IN P.E.!!!
This colorful “P.E. Prepositions” poster identifies 16 commonly used English language prepositions that are typically used by a physical education teacher during a daily PE lesson. The poster includes a corresponding “action-based” image that compliments the preposition for each movement which will help students to easily relate. The PDF file includes 4 different header colors to match your school’s gym colors.
The posters are in a Zip folder with 2 Formats- PDF and JPEG (originally set for 8 ½ by 11 sheets) but they can easily be copied on a school or store Poster-Maker to convert to a large sized poster. You can then place it inside your gym or playing area for your students to see and for you to reference while you teach your daily physical education lessons.
